There’ll be swingin’ and swayin’ and records playing.
Dancing in the street. Unquote.
Alright 26 show us what’s on “tap.”
Right-left-right cha cha cha.
25’s about to wrap.
Let’s do the hokey pokey.
Double down and bet the store.
We ‘ll turn on the victrola.
And dance across the floor.
A little twist and hully gully.
If that’s what it will take.
Then we’ll lindy hop and jitterbug.
No more dancing just in place.
Hit the ground and sprint ahead.
Add input to effect a change.
Come on boogie woogie bugle boy.
The top man of your craft.
“Stroll” into the New Year and bring along your draft.
Let’s “tap” into the Bossa Nova.
Rock and Roll and “all that jazz.”
Bunny hop and two step.
Swing dance with great pizzazz.
Step one, dance two.
Shouts The Chorus from the line.
Fine tune an Arabesque, stay on Pointe and redefine.
Add elbow grease to team effort.
Realign your goals in mind.
Offer a leg up, if anyone falls behind.
So as you chasse across the finish line.
Or Fred Astaire across the ceiling.
We will welcome in this brand new year.
Position one as we are kneeling.
Hit it Elton.
“So goodbye yellow brick road.
Where the dogs of society howl.
You can’t plant me in your penthouse.
I’m going back to my plough.”
And to all a Good Night!
Month: December 2025
Take Two
What would you do if you could? As the coming New Year 2026 is approaching it offers a time of reflection. Another year of life passes by and our tendency is to reframe our inventory. In typical fashion we move the “only if and do more”folder to the forefront. In Benjamin Button style if you could put a finishing glaze on your ceramic facade what parts would you smooth out first? The front runner headline encompasses the concept of “Dreamers.”
The last several weeks stockpiled horrific news and emphasized the state of despair the world is mired in. We try to unravel from the stranglehold and move toward a moment of hope.
So fast forward to dreams, wishes and make overs. As dreams really can come true I would bid on a breakfast with The Beatles. “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” Seriously one of the all time greatest quotes resonates loud and strong daily.
Ah! To have picked Einsteins brain for even just one hour. “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” Imagine it’s possible and it is. Perhaps taken a smokey voice lesson or two from Lauren Bacall. “You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow.”
I would have listened more and talked less. Worked on relationships that offered less chemistry and more of a challenge. I see now they carried lessons in disguise in people skills. High on the list would have been to do more ego building activities, honing natural abilities. More writing, perhaps lingered longer doing craft projects. In turn accepting sooner, it’s all an inside job. Softer ways and less hard ball goes further, indeed. Really walking a mile in someone else’s shoes, huge lesson. So let’s add a spoonful of sugar to help swallow our pride and make it a blessed New Year. “We’ll drink a cup of kindness yet. For the sake of Auld lang syne.“
Measure Twice, Cut Once!
On the days between the years your presence in our lives feels even more pronounced. We sit still for a moment and reasonably try to evaluate where we could try harder, embrace change and clean up shop. Resolutions are made and we will wait to see if they stick.
We hold on to the lessons that have propelled us into a place with more acceptance and the understanding that our journey is just that. The people in our path who are deceptive are there to help us understand wrong from right. The benevolent, kind and selfless offer us lessons for good values. One of our long term themes is for patience. We go along at our own pace and hope that our recognition of who needs a leg up grows more keen with time. Our gut is really our mind speaking through our heart. You know when you know. Don’t underestimate a vibe, a sideways look on someone’s face. Eye rolls speak volumes. Some of the people, some of the time.
When we are pushed to the limit in our values we are faced with the decision to hold tight or compromise and restructure. When we slip up and waiver we look over our shoulder for the feathers, or dimes you drop along our path.
We feel less alone.
There are days we wonder when it’s our turn again for you to come back our way. It’s often during our toughest lessons.
And so we wake up early, make the coffee as we look ahead to the New Year. We will wait for the feathers, leave our “judgments” in the recycle bin and know, as long as we work together our backs will be covered. B’h.

If you could read it in Winchell’s Column
If you could read it in Winchell’s column.
A you’re Adorable, B you’re so Beautiful.
Somedays a song enters our mind and we skip along -dot, dot, dot.
“If they could see us now, that little gang of ours.”
Cause it’s a long, long way from May to December and I don’t want to walk without you Baby. Walk without my arm about you Baby.
I have often walked down the street before. But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before. All at once am I- speaking of my Sweetie Pie only 60 inches high. Every inch is packed with Dynamite. That’s my little Honey Bun. Get a load of Honey Bun tonight.
10 cents a Dance. That’s what they pay me. Gosh how they weigh me down.
Cause -oh how we danced on the night we were wed. We vowed our true love, though a word wasn’t said. The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies. Except for the few that were there in your eyes… This put us sitting on top of the world, rolling along, yes rolling along.
Maybe I didn’t love you.
Quite as often as I could have.
Maybe I didn’t treat you.
Quite as good as I could have.
But you were always on my mind. Always on my mind.
Hit it.
One Day you’ll look to see I’ve gone. For tomorrow may rain so I’ll follow the Sun. “You might just make it after all.”
Have a lyrical kind of Sunday with a Fringe on the top. Mic Drop.
